BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023- <br />TO DECLARE EQUIPMENT SURPLUS TO THE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 36.34 RCW provides the procedures to sell or convey County <br />equipment or property that is no longer needed; and <br />WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.010 authorizes the Board of County Commissioners to decide <br />whether County -owned real or personal property is surplus to the needs of the County and <br />whether disposal would be in the best interests of the County and its people; and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County Code Chapter 2.81 states the County asset inventory policy <br />that provides for disposal of County assets that are removed from service through surplus, <br />interdepartmental transfer, loss or theft, trade-in, destruction and breakage, scrap and <br />abandonment, and intergovernmental sale; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Sheriff has determined that certain vehicles and firearms <br />owned by his Office should be retired and replaced, and such list is attached herein; and <br />WHEREAS, after notice duly given pursuant to RCW 36.34.020 and RCW 36.34.030, a <br />public hearing was held for the purpose of declaring the afore -mentioned vehicles and firearms <br />surplus to the County's needs pursuant to RCW 36.34.040; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that it is in the <br />best interests of the County and its people to declare items shown on the attached list as surplus <br />to the County's needs as allowed by Kittitas County Code Chapter 2.81 and RCW 36.34 and <br />39.33, and remove said items from the County inventory program and list. <br />The Sheriff is authorized to sell the listed property by any means allowed by law and the <br />Treasurer shall perform any electronic media sale pursuant to RCW 36.16.145. <br />DATED this day of <br />2023. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Cory Wright, Chairman <br />Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />RESOLUTION <br />
