AGENDA DATE: August 15, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal
Agreement with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the
Courts (AOC) and Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services for Becca
Programs and Services
BACKGROUND: The Washington State Legislature enacted statutory responsibility to
create services for youth and families called BECCA (named after the
child who died without the availability for court interventions prior to
the statute.) Those services include At Risk Youth (ARY), Children
in Need of Services (CHINS) and Truancy. The AOC administers
those services through annual grant agreement with Juvenile Courts.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutors Office has reviewed and approved as to form the
contract (Prosecutor Review Number 10010). Brian Carlson with the
Auditor's Office was provided a copy for review.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of Interlocal Agreement
with the State of Washington Administrative Office of the Courts and
Kittitas County Juvenile Court Services for Becca Programs and
Services.
HANDLING: Request 2 signed original documents be returned to Juvenile Court
Services to pursue AOC signature and subsequent return of an
original fully executed document to the BoCC for County records.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution authorizing execution of Interlocal Agreement for
BECCA.
