ACTION REQUESTED:
Request Boards Approval for Chairs signature on Amendment No. 1 with SCS Engineers for additional
design services.
BACKGROUND:
Kittitas County Solid Waste has been working with SCS Engineers on the design of the new transfer station
site located on Green Ave. It was found that a section of the site had unsuitable soils up to 8.5 feet in depth.
With additional borings we were able to locate the limits of the areas and adjust the design to minimize the
impact on roads and structures.
The updated design will require remove some of the soil but not to the extent that was original thought.
INTERACTION:
Kittitas County Solid Waste, City of Ellensburg, SCS Engineers, HWA Geoscience, and Prosecutors office
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend Board approval for Chairs signature on Amendment No. 1 with SCS Engineers.
HANDLING:
Return sign copy.
