Kittitas County <br />Solid Waste <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />8/1/2023 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request Boards Approval for Chairs signature on Amendment No. 1 with SCS Engineers for additional <br />design services. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste has been working with SCS Engineers on the design of the new transfer station <br />site located on Green Ave. It was found that a section of the site had unsuitable soils up to 8.5 feet in depth. <br />With additional borings we were able to locate the limits of the areas and adjust the design to minimize the <br />impact on roads and structures. <br /> <br />The updated design will require remove some of the soil but not to the extent that was original thought. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste, City of Ellensburg, SCS Engineers, HWA Geoscience, and Prosecutors office <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend Board approval for Chairs signature on Amendment No. 1 with SCS Engineers. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return sign copy. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Patti Stacey <br />
