KITTITAS COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES 2023 AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: August 1, 2023 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and Kittitas County Conservation District for Continuing Implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program BACKGROUND: In 2011, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance electing to participate in the Voluntary Stewardship Program. This ordinance elected to have Kittitas County proceed with implementation of the requirements of the Voluntary Stewardship Program once the Washington State Legislature provides adequate funding for such activity. The Washington State Legislature has appropriated Voluntary Stewardship funds for the 2023-2025 budget for continued implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. Kittitas County's current Interlocal Agreement with Kittitas County Conservation District expired on June 30, 2023, and the current agreement will begin on July 1, 2023, and end on June 30, 2025. This will allow for continued implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. The Contract with the Washington State Conservation Commission for the Voluntary Stewardship Program has been executed. This is the final agreement for management of the program. INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Public Works, Kittitas County Conservation District RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Interlocal Agreement between Kittitas County and Kittitas County Conservation District for Continuing Implementation of the Voluntary Stewardship Program.
