Regular Meeting
MONDAY 1:30 PM June 26, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright and Commissioner
Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Jamey Ayling, Jeremy Larson, Zach Torrance -Smith, and
Jessica Miller, Community Development Services; Mark Cook, Josh
Fredrickson, and Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Neil Caulkins,
Deputy Prosecutor; and eight (8) members of the public.
At 2:16 pm Chairman Wright opened the Community Development
Services Study Session.
CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MIN. TIME LIMIT)
There were no public comments.
PLANS EXAMINER POSITION DISCUSSION
CDS Building Official Jeremy Larson provided briefing on hiring
an additional Plans Examiner. The funding is already in the
budget for this position. CDS currently uses a third party to
review plans. The BoCC support this plan and directs staff to
hire for the positions and requested the number of commercial
permits we deal with on an annual basis.
LAND CAPACITY ANALYSIS - BUILDABLE LANDS INVENTORY DISCUSSION
CDS Planning Manager Jamey Ayling stated CDS would like to
proceed with negotiations with our consultants The Watershed
Company regarding developing a buildable land inventory for
Kittitas County. CDS Director Mark Cook provided information on
The BoCC directed staff to negotiate a task order with The
Watershed Company supporting the land capacity analysis and
create enabling documents for the board's consideration.
