AIRPORT STUDY SESSION MINUTES

Regular Meeting

MOU for Bowers Field to be a Staging Area
Director Ohl updated the commissioners that he was contacted by the Washington Military
Department Emergency Management Division and FEMA to use Bowers Field Airport as a
staging area in the event of a natural disaster. There would be two staging areas, one on the
aeronautical side and one on the business park. If the land gets developed the staging area would
be moved.
Request was Approved.
Request to Approve funding for 2023 Airport Projects
Director Ohl explained to the commissioners that in the next 5 years, the airport has many
projects coming up and will need money in order to fund these projects. As well, the airport is
going to need money in order to keep up with the grant matches from previous projects. The
commissioners agreed that the airport will get the money for the grant match as well as the
projects.
OTHER BUSINESS
The next consent agenda will include an ordinance and resolution for the new T-hangar leases
and for the 5-year rental increases.
Citizens Comments:
The miller building project should consider a metal roofing in the cost analysis, as well as look at
grants for the project.
