ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed
Bids for the Faust Road Bridge #88212 Over Towne
Ditch Replacement Project, CRP 316-22.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County was selected to receive 100%
funding through the WSDOT Local Bridge Program
for the replacement of the load restricted bridge on
Faust Road over the Towne Ditch.
The project includes the replacement of the existing
bridge, guardrail, approaches, shoulders, installation
and removal of a temporary detour, additional site
grading, and roadway paving. The engineering and
design for the project has been performed jointly by
County staff and consultant engineers. Construction
is expected to take up to 90 working days from the
Notice to Proceed.
The engineers estimated range for construction is
$1,700,000.00 to $1,880,000.00.
Bids are scheduled to be received on August 17,
2023, at 1 Oam at the Public Works office.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Call for Sealed Bids and
Advertise as requested for the Faust Road Bridge
#88212 Over Towne Ditch Replacement Project,
CRP 316-22.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

KITTITAS COUNTY— FAUST ROAD BRIDGE 488212 OVER TOWNE DITCH REPLACEMENT PROJECT
KITTITAS COUNTY ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON
Sealed bids will be received by Kittitas County Public Works, at the reception desk located at 411 North Ruby Street, Suite
1, Ellensburg, Washington until 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, and will then and there be opened and publicly
read for the construction of the Faust Road over Towne Ditch.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in
an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such
contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid
proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Kittitas County Public Works.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and to waiver informalities in the bidding.

The Kittitas County in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4)
and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to
this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to
this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an
award.
This project has a DBE Goal.
The improvement for which bids will be received is described below:
The work to be performed within 90 working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing all materials,
equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for:
The improvement of Faust Road over the Towne Ditch, including the replacement of the existing bridge, guardrail,
approaches, shoulders, installation and removal of a temporary detour, additional site grading, roadway paving and other
work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
Engineer's estimated range for the project is $1,700,000.00 - $1,880,000.00.
