AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: July 5, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve County Program Agreement — Consolidated
Contract between Juvenile Court Services and the Department of
Children, Youth, and Families
BACKGROUND: As mandated by the Washington State Legislature, the purpose of this
contract is to provide funding to County Juvenile Courts throughout
Washington State to support Block Grant programs for juvenile
offenders. The programs include, but are not limited to:
• Consolidate Juvenile Services At -Risk (CJS)
• Special Sex Offender Disposition Alternative (SSODA)
• Chemical Dependency and Mental Health Disposition
Alternative (CDMHDA)
• Suspended Disposition Alternative (SDA)
• Community Juvenile Accountability Act (CJAA)/Evidenced
Based Programs (EBP), and
• Promising Programs
INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office has reviewed and approved as to form the
contract (Prosecutor Review Number 27533). Brian Carlson with the
Auditor's Office was provided a copy for review.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the County Program Agreement — Consolidated Contract
between Juvenile Court Services and Department of Children, Youth
and Families for SFY 2024-2024.
HANDLING: Request 2 signed original documents be returned to Juvenile Court
Services to pursue DCYF signature and subsequent return of an
original fully executed document to the BoCC for County records (I
have created 3 originals — if you would please return 2 and keep 1).
