COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JUNE 26, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Commissioner, Laura
Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith (WEBEX).
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk
of the Board; Debbie Stanavich, Administrative Assistant; Brian
Carlson, Budget & Finance Director; and one member of the public.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending June 23, 2023.
DISCUSSION COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR COMMISSIONERS
Chairman Wright stated that the Board was provided a budget impact
breakdown as requested for the County Administrator position and
asked what the Board wanted to do next. Commissioner Wachsmith and
Commissioner Osiadacz indicated that the Department Heads still
needed to be met with. Staff was directed to set up a meeting with
the County Department Heads.
DISCUSSION TOWNHALLS COMMISSIONERS
The Board discussed holding two Townhall meetings this September.
Commissioner Osiadacz stated she has been wanting to dothese for
quite a while and would like to do them prior to an election year.
She stated that it would be a good opportunity for the Board and
citizens to see what all is going on in the County. Staff was

directed to work on setting up two Townhall’s one in Upper County
and one in Lower County for late September.
DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined that for the week of June 26, 2023, they would
post on their Facebook page the following: Notice that the
Courthouse Office/Departments/Buildings will be open on 7/3/2023 and
closed on 7/4/2023 in observance of Independence Day; Patriot Night
advertisement; Chip Seal Reminder to residents.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2023
were determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin
meeting earlier on and they will continue to provide updates at
future meetings.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
UPDATES BOCC/WHITE BOARDS COMMISSIONERS
The Board reviewed their updates/edits to each of their white
boards.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
