COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JUNE 05, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; Commissioner, Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk
of the Board; Debbie Stanavich, Administrative Assistant; Kate
Jimenez, Administrative Assistant; Bryan Elliott, Auditor.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending June 2, 2023.
DISCUSSION VETERANS SERVICE BUDGET COMMISSIONERS
Bryan Elliott, County Auditor reviewed a request for a Budget
Amendment for Veterans Assistance. He stated that it was their
recommendation for the Board to authorize a one-time budget
amendment of $28,288 (six months budget expenditure) to ensure the
KCVC can continue operations through the end of the year. He stated
that approving this request would reduce the fund balance to
$142,246 but would not have a material impact on any other aspect of
the County budget as these funds are restricted to only be used for
veterans assistance.
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve the budget amendment, as
presented. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
REAPPOINT CAROLE MILLER RHODES COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Wachsmith moved to reappoint Carole Miller Rhodes to
the Kittitas County Housing Authority for a 5-year term effective
immediately and to end on 04/06/2028. Commissioner Osiadacz
seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined that for the week of June 5, 2023, they would
advertise for the vacancy on the Housing Authority; the upcoming
STEER I-90 Meeting and the Picture of the Board and Josh Boast
proclaiming June 12, 2023 as “Joshua Boast Day” in Kittitas County.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2023
were determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin
meeting earlier on and they will continue to provide updates at
future meetings.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
UPDATES BOCC/WHITE BOARDS COMMISSIONERS
The Board reviewed their updates/edits to each of their white
boards.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
The Board agreed to having Kate try posting for their Facebook page
and put the PSA they were working on, on hold.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
