PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />“Joshua Boast Day” <br />June 12, 2023 <br />WIAA 2A Track & Field State Champion – 300m Hurdles <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Joshua Boast is a senior at Ellensburg High School and a leader amongst the EHS Track <br />& Field team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Joshua had a very successful track & field season that included a 1st place win in the 300- <br />meter hurdles event at the CWAC District meet as well as the CWAC/GSL 2A Regional <br />Championship meet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: On Saturday May 28, 2023, at the WIAA 2A Track & Field State Championships in the <br />Boys 300m hurdles event at the Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma, Washington, Joshua <br />posted a personal best time of 39.11 and is the new record holder at Ellensburg High <br />School in that event; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Joshua is ending his high school career as the WIAA 2A State Track & Field Champion <br />in the 300m hurdle event and should be recognized for his hard work and dedication to <br />academics in the classroom; his passion and commitment to the sport of track and field; <br />all while representing his teammates, family, Ellensburg High School, and the citizens of <br />Kittitas County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Joshua will be attending Central Washington University where he will be a member of <br />the Wildcat Track & Field team and we wish him continued success in this next step of <br />his academic and athletic career; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Board of County Commissioners asks the citizens of <br />Kittitas County to join them in celebrating and honoring Joshua Boast and his WIAA 2A State <br />Championship Title for the 300m Hurdles by Proclaiming June 12, 2023, as “Joshua Boast Day” in <br />Kittitas County. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 6th day of June 2023. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
