RESOLUTION
NO.: 2023-
A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE BID TO BELSAAS & SMITH CONSTRUCTION
INCORPORATED FOR THE BOWERS FIELD AIRPORT WETLAND AND
STREAM MITIGATION PROJECT
WHEREAS: The Airport at Bowers Field has a Wetland Stream and Mitigation Project;
and
WHEREAS: The Airport Director put the project out for bid through Century West
Engineering, and it was estimated that the cost of construction would be
$1,126,388.35 per a bid calculation from Century West Engineering; and
WHEREAS: Belsaas & Smith submitted the lowest winning bid for a total charge of
$834,247.70 for the construction project and Century West Engineering
recommended that the bid be awarded to Belsaas & Smith for this project;
and
WHEREAS: The United States Department of Transportation Federal Aviation
Administration has reviewed the bid documentation and approved this
winning bid and recommended that it be awarded to Belsaas & Smith.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of
Commissioners, in the best interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for the Bowers
Field Airport Wetland and Stream Mitigation Construction Project to Belsaas and Smith for
the duration of the construction project during 2023.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Airport at Bowers Field is
authorized to sign the contract documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the
proposal submitted by Belsaas & Smith Construction Incorporated.
ADOPTED this day of 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington.
