KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: June 6, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt Resolution Amending Public Records Act and <br />Records Management training schedule. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Board had previously adopted resolutions at the <br />recommendation of the Records Management Committee <br />(RMC) mandating regular training on these topics as a <br />management tool to maximize performance and minimize <br />liability exposure. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The RMC on its own initiative considered the impact of the <br />pandemic on the ability to comply with the terms of the <br />original adopted Resolution. A second and temporary <br />resolution was adopted during the pandemic to allow for <br />training to be done online. The current resolution request is <br />to continue with online training indefinitely. The current <br />proposed Resolution has been reviewed and approved by <br />the RMC membership. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Review the proposed Resolution and adopt it as written. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT: Proposed Resolution Amending Public Records and <br />Records Management Training Schedule. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Kari Elkins, for the RMC.
