BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PUBLIC RECORDS ACT AND RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT TRAINING SCHEDULE. <br />RESOLUTION No. 2023-______ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners enacted Resolution 2019-118, a copy <br />of which is attached hereto and incorporated by this reference, addressing the need for and <br />implementation of training for all county employees pertaining to records management and the <br />processing of requests pursuant to the Public Records Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners enacted Resolution 2021-058, a copy <br />of which is attached hereto and incorporated by this reference, addressing the need for and <br />implementation of remote training for all county employees pertaining to records management <br />and the processing of requests pursuant to the Public Records Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the pandemic that initiated the recommendation for remote training has <br />diminished; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Records Management Committee, monitoring the response to and <br />participation in these remote trainings, has found that the use of online remote training did <br />increase participation and reduce time spent in the preparation and management of these <br />trainings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Records Management Committee believes the use of online electronic <br />trainings provides greater flexibility for all County staff and a more timely training opportunity <br />for new staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recommendation of the Records Management Committee is that the <br />basic Records Management and Public Records Act training, intended for new employees and <br />those needing to meet the refresher requirement, and the more advanced training intended for <br />Public Records Officers, Records Officers, Department Heads and Elected Officials be made <br />available electronically at any time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Records Management Committee believes the content of these trainings <br />should be regularly reviewed to incorporate changes to policies, procedures or law; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington hereby adopts and ratifies the recommendations <br />of the Records Management Committee and directs as follows: That the basic and advanced
