KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 6, 2023 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Contract for <br />the Intersection Corridor Safety Improvements Project <br />(CRP 313-21) and Authorize the County Engineer to <br />execute the same. <br />BACKGROUND: On January 18, 2022, the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution 2022-018 <br />initiating the County Road Project CRP 313-21 for the <br />Intersection Corridor Safety Improvements Project. <br />On May 2, 2023, the BOCC approved a Notice of Call for <br />Sealed Bids for the construction of said project. Sealed bids <br />were opened publicly on May 25, 2023, at Kittitas County <br />Public Works. The engineers' estimate for the project was <br />$405,000.00 to $440,000.00. There was (1) one qualified <br />bid received, from H and H Construction Solutions, LLC in <br />the amount of $566,483.00. <br />Federal Funding has been secured through the Highway <br />Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for the construction <br />phase of the work. There is no local match required to <br />complete the project. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Award the Contract for the <br />Intersection Corridor Safety Improvements Project (CRP <br />313-12) and Authorize the County Engineer to execute the <br />same. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution with Bid Tab. <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson <br />County Engineer <br />
