WHEREAS Kittitas County Parks and Recreation District 1 (KPRD1) was
established by a vote of the people in 2005, and
WHEREAS KPRD1 receives no funding from any government entity or
taxing authority, and
WHEREAS KPRD1 will be filling Position # 1 and Position # 5 on the
November 2023 ballot, and,
WHEREAS KPRD1 is liable for its proportionate share of the costs of
elections for its open positions per RCW 29A.04.410 including the costs to
print and appear in the county's voter pamphlet, and
WHEREAS payment of the elections costs will most likely exceed the
remaining donated funds KPRD1 has received to date thus creating an
undue financial hardship,
THEREFOR be it resolved that KPRD1 officially petitions the Kittitas
County Board of Commissioners to waive the requirement to pay for
printing/publishing/distribution of the voter pamphlet per the allowances
prescribed in RCW 29A.32.220.
