AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON THE LOCAL AGENCY FEDERAL
AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS FOR THE MANASTASH ROAD CREEK BAIIK
STABILIZATION, CRP 273-16
WHEREAS: The Manastash Road realignment and bank stabilization project was requested in
2016 due to a deteriorating roadway and. bank erosion resulting from Manastash
Creek; and
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works submitted for, and was approved for a Federal
Lands Access Program (FLAP) Grant; and
WHEREAS: In preparation to starting the construction phase Public Works is requesting the
Washington State Department of Transportation to release the Federal Funds for
construction; and
WHEREAS:A Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus must be executed by the Chair
acknowledging the project has been reviewed and is consistent with the agency's
comprehensive plan for community development; and
NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby approve the Chair's signature on the Local
Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the Manastash Road Creek Bank
Stabilization, CRP 273-16.

Manastash Road is currently restricted to one lane due to an actively eroding streambank of Manastash Creek. This lane restriction is impacting a
heavily used snowpark, local residents, access to the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest (OWNF) and the Countys ability to maintain the roadway
during winter.
