AGENDA DATE: May 16, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Set a Public Hearing for May 31, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. to
consider applications to the Department of Commerce for
the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) General
Purpose Grants
BACKGROUND: The Department of Commerce has $11,000,000.00 available for
planning or construction of public infrastructure, community
facilities and housing rehabilitation. There is a maximum grant up
to $2,000,000.00 based on project type. Special purpose
districts, housing authorities and non-profit organizations are not
eligible to apply directly.
INTERACTION: As part of the funding requirements the Board of County
Commissioners are to conduct a Public Hearing to inform citizens
of the availability of funds, eligible uses and receive comments on
proposed activities, particularly from low-and moderate-income
persons.
RECOMMENDATION:
Set a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday May 31, 2023, at 10:30
a.m. to consider public comments on the availability of funds and
eligible uses and proposed activities on the Community
Development Block Grant General Purpose funds available.
