AGENDA SESSION DATE: May 2, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for
the Intersection Corridor Safety Improvements Project,
CRP 313-21.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County was selected to receive funding through
the Federal Highway Safety Program (HSIP) for the
Intersection Corridor Safety Project.
The project includes installing, replacing, and upgrading
over 200 signs at 18 different intersections throughout
the County. Some of the upgraded signs will include
solar powered LED lighting to help attract the attention
of motorists. The engineering and design for the project
has been performed by County staff. Construction is
expected to take up to 45 working days from the Notice
to Proceed.
The engineers estimated range for construction is
$405,000.00 to $440,000.00.
Bids are scheduled to be received on May 25, 2023, at
1 Oam at the Public Works office.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Call for Sealed Bids and
Advertise as requested for the Intersection Corridor
Safety Improvements, CRP 313-21.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

INVITATION TO BID
KITTITAS COUNTY—INTERSECTION CORRIDOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS
KITTITAS COUNTY, ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON
Sealed bids will be received by Kittitas County Public Works, at the reception desk located at 411 North Ruby Street, Suite
1, Ellensburg, Washington until 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, and will then and there be opened and publicly read
for the construction of the Intersection Corridor Safety Improvements.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in
an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such
contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds within the time stated in the specifications, the bid
proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Kittitas County Public Works.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and to waiver informalities in the bidding.

The Kittitas County in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4)
and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to
this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to
this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an
award.
This project has a DBE Goal of 4%.
The improvement for which bids will be received is described below:
The work to be performed within 45 (forty-five) working days from the date of Notice to Proceed consists of furnishing all
materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental thereto for:
The improvement of Kittitas County roadways, including adding/upgrading signing with LEDs for intersections and school
zones, replacement/upgrading of existing intersection warning signs, speed limit signs and other work, all in accordance
with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications.
Engineer's estimated range for the project is $405,000.00 - $440,000.00.
