KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: May 2, 2023 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature <br />on County Road Administration Rural Arterial Program Project <br />Agreement Amendment No. 1, supporting Hungry Junction Road <br />Improvements <br />BACKGROUND: Improvements to Hungry Junction Road appear on the adopted six- <br />year transportation plan. On April 30, 2021 County Road <br />Administration (CRAB) noticed Public Works of $372,860 in Rural <br />Arterial Trust Account (RATA) funding award through the Rural <br />Arterial Program (RAP). <br />CRAB approved an increase in authorized RATA funding for the <br />project and notified Public Works on April 21, 2023. The additional <br />authorized amount is $1,900,000. Bringing the total RATA project <br />funding to $2,272,860. <br />The grant supports improvement to Hungry Junction Road including <br />pavement replacement, reconstruction of vertical curves and safety <br />improvements from mile point 0.00 to mile point 1.74. The project is <br />currently in design with construction anticipated after the net round of <br />RAP authorizations in 2025. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the Chair's signature on CRAB <br />RAP Project Agreement for Construction Proposal Amendment No 1, <br />HANDLING: Return three (3) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; CRAB RAP Project Agreement for Construction Proposal <br />Amendment No. 1 <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
