Approval of Minutes
Motion to approve the February 16

Department Updates
Administrative Officer/Director Update
Ms. Loeffers gave an update on the following:
■ Staffing update- all positions have been filled, Candi is celebrating 15 years with the department, Kate is
graduation from the DOH's infection prevention champions program and Director Loeffers is done with her
MPH course work.
■ KCPHD will be overseeing 1/10th and Opioid settlement money.
• CHA/CHIP work
■ New Customer Survey
• Lucy Garcia, back up PIO!
• In-house therapist starting April 17th
• Marie working on internal mental health initiatives with almost all department staff participating
• BOHAC update- BOHAC met March 13th, they decided that they will continue to meet as an ad hoc basis
and do Public Health Champion
Discussion on whether therapist will be available to other county staff. Ms. Loeffers noted that she is on a 6 -month
contract, and KCPHD staff will do a trial run on how that works, with the possibility of opening it up to other county
staff in the future.
Health Officer Update
Dr. Mark Larson presented on the following.
• Pandemic Preparedness
• COVID-19 pandemic update
• Wastewater Surveillance
Discussion on whether people are dying with COVID or because of COVID, ideal vaccination rates (any vaccine) and
whether Kittitas County can do their own after action at a local level (Per Commissioner Wright).
Amendment to the Bylaws of Kittitas County Board of Health
Ms. Loeffers presented a draft amendment of the Bylaws and asked for feedback.

Marie Marchand presented on the priorities of the 1/10th of 1% and asked for BOH feedback.
