RATIFYING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOROS SIGNATURE ON PURCHASE
ORDER NO. 123 IN THE AMOUNT OF $68,038.63 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW
PUBLIC WORKS RE,PLACEMENT VEHICLE
WHEREAS: Public Works manages an equipment rental and revolving fund consistent with
state law requirements; and
WHEREAS: Public Works maintains an ending fund balance reserve to manage unforeseen
equipment replacement needs in any given year; and

Recently, Equipment No. 196 (2015 Ford Crew Cab Flatbed pickup)
unexpectedly "blew" the motor and repair estimates are costly with significant
time loss of vehicle use; and
Public Works has experienced significant delays receiving pickups servicing the
maintenance fleet the past couple of years owing to supply chain impacts; and
Public Works was able to secure an adequate replacement vehicle locally, the
Public Works Director signed Purchase Order No. 123 securing the purchase of
the vehicle; and

ABSENT
WHEREAS: The Public Works Director's purchasing authorization is $50,000.
NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby ratify the Public Works Director's signature on Purchase
Order No. 123 in the amount of $68,038.63.
