AGENDA DATE: April 18, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Authorize Advertisement for a Request for Statements of
Qualifications for State-Licensed Designers to Provide County-Sponsored Master
Building Plans
BACKGROUND: Community Development Services (CDS) is requesting authorization to
advertise a request for Statements of Qualifications for state-licensed designers
(Architects and Engineers) to provide master building plans for the county’s
new program that will provide building designs to customers to help provide
affordable housing. Selected consultants would provide three building plans
with roof snow loads of 45 PSF, 75 PSF, and 150 PSF. Designs would include
1-2 bedrooms with one bathroom and a maximum square footage of 1,500
square feet. After the interview process the Board of County Commissioners
would authorize a contract with the selected firm and the CDS Director would
negotiate a scope of work and fee for the building plan designs.
