ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Allow the Kittitas Valley
Event Center to Charge Ticketing Fees
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas Valley Event Center has been operating a new ticketing
system since 2020 that allows for online ticket purchases and prints real
event tickets. The purpose of this was to allow for the customer
convenience of purchasing tickets ahead of the event online, so they
don’t have to stand in line at the gate to buy a ticket.
The ticketing service company charges a fee per ticket as the cost for
using their ticketing system. These ticket charges are passed on to the
customer when purchasing their ticket as standard industry practice to
offset the cost of the service. This resolution will formalize that process
as standard policy that the ticketing fee is a pass-through fee from the
ticketing company.
