RESOLUTION No. 2023-_____
TO AUTHORIZE A TEMPORARY DEVIATION FROM THE COMPUTER ROTATION PROCEDURE
AS DEFINED IN THE KITTITAS COUNTY TECHONOLOGY POLICY
WHEREAS, Kittitas County has previously adopted a set of technology policies; and
WHEREAS, Section 3.4.8 of the Kittitas County Technology Policy provides for the regular rotation
of computers every four (4) years and monitors every six (6) years; and
WHEREAS, The Kittitas County Information and Technology Department is facing extenuating
circumstances resulting from personnel shortages and a backlog of major, high-priority
projects; and
WHEREAS, The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners has directed the Information and
Technology Department to focus their resources on certain high-priority projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: The Kittitas County Information and Te chnology Department is
hereby authorized to postpone rotating computers and monitors that would have been scheduled for
rotation in 2023 until March of 2024.
NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Kittitas County Information and Te chnology Director or their
designee is hereby authorized, at their discretion, to continue replacing and/or purchasing workstation
equipment as needed during the rotation postponement so that regular county business is not disrupted.
