KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 4, 2023 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Amendment B to Contract 2020-2023 <br />Shelter in Place SR between Kittitas County and <br />HopeSource <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County applied through the Department of Commerce, Community Services and <br />Housing Division Housing Assistance Unit for the Shelter Program. This program funds <br />equitable and creative approaches to develop or expand shelter programs and bring unsheltered <br />people inside with the goal of exiting participants to permanent and positive outcomes quickly. <br />On October 20, 2020, Kittitas County signed the Hopesource Subrecipient Agreement <br />regarding the Washington State Department of Commerce contract Number 21-4610C- <br />109. On December 21, 2021 the BOCC approved Amendment A to Contract 2020-2023 <br />Shelter in Place SR with Hopesource amending the bed spaces allowed per the program. <br /> On March 20, 2023, Washington State Department of Commerce provided Kittitas <br />County with Amendment Number B adding an addition $45,360.00 in funds to the original <br />contract amount of $246,846.00. <br />Hopesource is the subrecipient of this Shelter Program Grant and the additional funds will <br />be used by Hopesource according to the program requirements. This Amendment B is to <br />add the additional funds with an amendment start date of March 1, 2023 and an amendment <br />end date of June 30, 2023. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve Amendment B to Contract 2020-2023 <br />Shelter in Place SR between Kittitas County and <br />HopeSource <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Christopher Horner, Deputy Prosecutor <br /> <br />HANDLING: Commissioners staff to forward two originals to Dora Van <br />Epps for distribution to Hopesource. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Agreement between Kittitas County and HopeSource <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Brian Carlson, Budget and Finance Director <br /> Dora Van Epps, Fiscal Analyst
