<br />Summary: The Office of the Secretary of State has established an Election Security Grant that provides <br />counties with up to $80,000 in funding to support election security enhancements. The funds can be <br />used to support physical or IT security upgrades. Kittitas County Auditor’s Office in coordination with our <br />IT department applied for the grant and our request has been approved for the following: <br /> <br />*Estimated costs based on initial research. Final costs may shift project item depending actual invoices, <br />but total will not exceed amount allocated by OSOS. <br />There are no specific requirements for the grant other than it be used for it’s intended purpose and <br />work is completed/submitted for reimbursement no later than June 30th, 2023. <br />Concept & Timeline: <br />• January-February: Auditor & IT collaborated to draft a request based on specific identified <br />election security needs. <br />• February – June: Auditors Office coordinates with Maintenance to complete the physical <br />security upgrades. IT works internally and with applicable vendors to implement cyber security <br />enhancements. <br />• NLT June 30th: Work completed, and funds expended (reimbursed.)
