The missioa of Wasbinglon Stateunivcfisity Coaperative ExtEnsion (CE) is to help
peoplc develop lcaderstip skills and use research-based krowlcdge to improve their
ecorurmic stafirs aad quality of tifc. Faculty mqrbers and support staff are crnploycd to
plan, ccuduct and evaluatc cducationsl Frogrffi$ in ail 39 courties of the state of
li/ashington. Countics maintain close coordination and cooperalion with W$U CE to
provide cosstifrrcnts with cducational and dcvelopueatal programs to meet their needs.
This is donc by praviding infararatioa educatiou, techuical assistance and local
developmcnt prograrns.

Washington Statc lJnivcrsity Ccopcrative Extcnsion and Kittitas Countf. This also
continucs a lcnptaoding joint firnding relaticnship forcorrnty and arta E:*cnsion faclilty
and designatcd strpport staff. It is the intcnt of this Memora$dum of Agrecment to
provide cosstihr€ntf in Kiritas Cormty witb cducational programs to addrcss issucs in
zuch areas as $$tninqblc agriculture and uatural rgsources, fcod safcty and quality, aud 4-
H youth, families rnd theircommunitiss.

Assure that annual salary increase monies will be available for Cooperative
Extensisn faculty and designated suppcrt staff that matches the average
F€rcentage appropriated forsuch purposeby the Washington State Legislanrre.
Annual salary adjustnenb fcr Kittitas Caunty Extension faculty will be based cn
rncrit or whatevcr sriGria is establisbed by Washington State Lcgislature.
Supplernent the funds rcceived from Kittitas County and pay total salary and
Finge bene fits for each county or area faculty and any designated stalf mcmbers.
Submit to Kittitas Counry at the beginning of cach manth a mcnthly invoicc for
onc-twelfth (lll2, of &e amount appearing in Appeudix A of this agreernent.
Providc &ingc bcrucfits to county aud arcaExtcnsion faculty as outlincd in thc
WSU Faculty Mantral and providc &inge benefits to support staffas outlined by
the Higher Educalion Pctsonncl Board. Annual teave and sick leave are nat
considered bencfits.
Graxrt annual leave, sick leave, pmfessioual lave, othcr leave, and holidays as
outlinrd in thc W$UFaculty Maffral forcoutS/area Extcssion faculty or in the
Highqr Educatiotrd Pcrsouncl Board handbook forjointly fuudcd and firtly WSU
nrnded support staff.
Pay its proportional share of asnual leave and/or sick leave, for caunty and area
faculty or desigtaied *ryport staff,
Provide in-service cducatian for cormlarca Extcusion faculf'y.
Provide Kittitas County tne expcrtisc cf Coopcrative Exteusion state specialists of
Washington Statc Univenity to support counfirlarca Extasion faculty in planning
and implemcnting cducatiosal Frograds.
