For one exciting day the building springs to life with Junktiquen in the Burg's vintage market. Junktiquen invites crowds to peruse and shop up-cycled and re-purposed decor, furniture, and accessories. Vendors roll into town from all corners of the Pacific Northwest, from the southernmost tip of Oregon to small towns in ldaho, towns on Washington's West coast and everything in between. The vendors take their load full of items and transform them into their own small store front for shoppers to enjoy. Vintage markets are extremely popular across America and have a very large following. Shoppers will travel miles and miles to catch the next great show! Ellensburg's centralized location in Washington encourages visitors to travel from all over. Every year, hundreds of new Junktiquer's travel to Ellensburg, and many people plan girls'weekends and family vacations around the event. The audience I am targeting is ages 1B to B0 and everything in between. The structure of the show reaches various ages with the different types of items offered. Some shoppers may like the true antiques while other shoppers may prefer more of the re-purposed items such as jewelry made from vintage spoons, plants planted in a vintage tin or up-cycled furniture. There are lots of amazing one of a kind finds to see and shop. 2500 character Iimit Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's evenUproject. As mentioned, vintage markets are extremely popular across the nation and shoppers willtravel miles and miles to catch the next show. Ellensburg's centralized location in Washington encourages visitors to travel from all corners of the state. We hear often of how shoppers meet up in Ellensburg to come to the show and make a weekend of it. The love for shopping vintage and upcycled along with all the that our County has to offer makes it the perfect place to hold the show. The show dates are in the fall and in the spring, which are both a beautiful time to travel to our valley. Shoppers are encouraged to come enjoy the show, enjoy the beauty, and take in all the other wonderful things in our County. 2.1 and 2.2 Projection: I estimate that 55% of my attendees will be tourists coming from more than 50 miles away and that 15% of them will stay in overnight paid accommodations. Having the funds to advertise my show has helped draw those that are 50 miles or further from Ellensburg. lf I receive funding this year, I anticipate a 3-5o/o increase to my attendees that live the 50 miles or further. Based on the options of my market I have connected with many online groups and like events that I will be using the funds to further those relations and other advertising focused in those areas. 2.1 and 2.2 Evidence: Based on my survey from the recent show, 53% of shoppers were from 50 miles or more and 15% of those stayed in paid accommodations and 39% stayed in other accommodations. The vendors had 35% from over 50 miles away. The attendees range from age 20 and under to 60 plus with the majority being female. A lot of them heard of the show through Facebook and advertising in their areas through other media such as. newspaper and magazine ads. Based on survey results, most heard about the show by the advertising which I was able to expand through this application process and funding. 2.3 Projection: Based on past surveys, 1% is projected from out of State or Country 2.3 Evidence: At this time, I have no evidence of this particular area as my survey shows a result of less than 1o/o of my attendees that provided such information. I will adjust my marketing areas trying to improve this percentagefor 2023. 2500 character limit lf-app-16-03.co.kittitas.wa.us/Forms/form/submission/history/77656/85651?hideHeader=true 5t't4 9129122, 11:13 AM Response 2.2* Application Questions: Part 2 3l lmpact LTAC Clerk Review Describe the prior success of your evenUactivity/facility in attraction tourists. The show has been fortunate to have shoppers and vendors from not only all over Washington State, but out of state as well. Surveys are collected to help track where the shoppers and vendors are coming from and over 53% of my attendees are tourists coming from more than 50 miles away. . Just over 15% of them stayed in overnight paid accommodations . 39% Stayed in other accommodations. Survey results reflected, my attendees range from age 20 and under to 60 plus with the majority being female. A lot of them heard of the show through Facebook and advertising in their areas through other media like newspaper, and magazine ads. Marketing is focused on areas over 50 miles away and the surveys help track to see if marketing is working. lt has been very helpful reviewing the results of the surveys. An area I would like to continue to grow is the less than 1% coming from out of State or Country. Although I haven't been able to attract more than 1%,1 am continuing to grow my event by the funding received. I am hoping with the digital presence and new partnerships we will see an increase this attendee. 2500 character limit lf-app-16-03.co.kittitas.wa.us/Forms/form/submission/history/77656/85651 ?hideHeader=true 6t14 9129122, 11:'13 AM Response 3: Measuring Results* LTAC Clerk Review Describe how you will promote your evenUactivity/facility to attract tourists. Promotion of the show will come in various formats. The surveys conducted help measure the impact of tourism and where we can expand. Each show has conducted surveys capturing information such as: where shoppers come from, is this their first time to Ellensburg, did they stay the night and what are they doing while in town. Moving foruuard in 2023, we will be looking at moving to a ticketing process that will allow for zip code findings and will continue the survey process. This in turn will help with determining the place in which the show drew shoppers from. Target marketing will assure the show is attracting tourists from at least 50 miles away. Marketing advertising money will be used in the Seattle/Portland market, coeur de 'Lane market as well as central washington area including wenatchee, Moses Lake and rri-cities to name a few. we will look at using specific URL's in the advertising to be able to track location effectiveness. Not only do shoppers come from all over, but vendors do as well, with places like Sandpoint lD., Hermiston, OR., Waterville, Moses Lake, Puyallup, Edmonds, Spokane and more. These vendors all have their own following of fans which will travel to catch them at their next show. There are some vendors that got out of the business and some shoppers that just haven't been ready to get out. With COVID hitting, this does set the event momentum back some. The grant would allow the show to continue to advertise and work on regaining that moment back. Junktiquen is gaining a large following of both shoppers and vendors. ln 2018, National magazine, Flea Market Gardens, named the show as one of readers' top choice vintage shows to attend. ln 2017, Junk{iquen in the Burg was named one of the 12 top vintage markets in the United States as a must attend show by National magazine, Flea Market Decor'. Receiving this grant will allow the show to regain the moment it had going prior to COVID. lt would allow the expansion of advertising to areas over 50 miles away and outside of the Country and State. This would continue increasing the likelihood of overnight stays and ancillary spending in the County as well as enhance the quality of the show for our county residence. 2500 character limit You may upload any supporting documents such as graphs, images, diagrams, marketing materials, etc. Flea Market Decor award.pdf 738.88K8 Event photos and comments.pdf 1.1M8 Budget explanation.pdf B5.16KB You are allowed to submit up to 3 single page (US Letter) documents in JPG, PDF or TIFF format 7l Previous Lodging Tax Grant lnformation Supporting Documents Previous Years Awarded Lodging Tax Grants * Overall Attendance Past Actual* 4,022 Has your event received Lodging Tax funds in previous years?
