Ohl <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />to consider approving a resolution authorizing leasing execution. <br /> <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />- The Airport Director asked the prosecutor’s office for a resolution to delegate <br />specific leasing authority from the board. <br />- The Prosecutor’s office drew up a resolution allowing the BoCC to delegate to the <br />Airport Director the authority to enter into 1 year T-Hangar leases and to approve <br />the lease amendments for tenant’s 5 year rent escalation clauses contained within <br />their agreed upon leases. <br />- Request a public hearing to consider approving the resolution to delegate the <br />listed authority on specific leases to the Airport Director. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />During a recent study session, the proposition of delegating some leasing authority to the <br />Airport Director was discussed to reduce the amount of administrative actions that had to <br />be brought before the BoCC. After working with the Prosecutor’s office an Ordinance <br />Amendment has been drafted to give the board the authority to delegate some of these <br />leasing actions in the future to the Airport Director. <br /> <br />Per the verbiage in the above approved Ordinance, the Airport Director requests a public <br />hearing to seek approval of the Resolution authorizing the Airport Director to execute <br />specific lease agreements. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The proposed Resolution will allow the board to delegate specific leasing authority to the <br />Airport Director. <br /> <br />According to the Resolution, the Airport Director will be allowed to execute 1 year <br />County owned T-Hangar leases and approve amendments for 5 year rent escalations. The <br />rent increases are already built into the original lease, so the tenant has technically agreed
