Kittitas County Commissioners <br />IT Study Session - Regular Meeting <br />Monday, January 23, 2023 - 11:00 AM <br />BOCC Conference Room <br />205 West 5th Room 108 – Ellensburg <br />Commissioners present: Cory Wright, Brett Wachsmith <br />Others present: Doug Fessler <br /> <br />Meeting Called to Order <br /> <br />Citizen Comment (1 min. time limit) <br />None present. <br />IT Department general updates <br />Doug Fessler and Zane Kinney presented updates on the following items: <br /> Progress on critical security projects is proceeding well and is currently on target <br />to meet preferred deadlines. Doug Fessler has negotiated favorable assistance <br />from current vendor to assist in helping with these projects. <br /> A work group has been created and begun analyzing the current inventory <br />system to discover and recommend strategies for simplification, efficiency, and <br />user experience improvements. <br /> With the Auditor, Bryan Elliot and members of his staff, members of IT staff <br />attended an Elections Security Symposium organized by King County Emergency <br />Management. The IT Department is working with the Auditor’s Office to secure <br />grant funding for improvements to our Elections Security. <br /> IT staffing remains a challenge, but interviews are scheduled for two IT Support <br />technicians. Two staff members were promoted to Network Administrator and <br />Systems Administrator. The GIS division of IT was discussed with commissioners. <br />The IT department is considering using a consulting firm to temporarily fulfill the <br />vacant position of GIS Coordinator. <br />Other Business <br />No other business <br />Concluded <br />Meeting concluded at 11:53 am
