2023 AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 21, 2023
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the selection
of East Slopes Earthworks for the Manufactured Home,
Barn, Arena, and Garage Demolition and Salvage Project
(Flood Control Zone property) and authorize the Public
Works Director to negotiate the final contract elements and
sign the Professional Services Agreement.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works advertised a request for
services to demolish four buildings on Flood Control Zone
District property and make the salvage rights available to
encourage material reuse. Public Works received nine (9)
qualified proposals. Submittals were due by February 3`d,
2023. An internal Public Works review team reviewed the
proposal and recommends award to East Slopes
Earthworks.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Authorize the selection of East
Slopes Earthworks for the Manufactured Home, Barn,
Arena, and Garage Demolition and Salvage Project and
authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate the final
contract elements and sign the professional services
agreement.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.

AUTHORIZE THE SELECTION OF EAST SLOPES EARTHWORKS FOR THE
MANUFACTURED HOME, BARN, ARENA, AND GARAGE DEMOLITION AND
SALVAGE PROJECT ON FLOOD CONTROL ZONE PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZE
THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SIGN THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS: Public Works prepared a request for proposals for manufactured home, barn,
arena, and garage demolition and salvage services in January 2023 consistent with
state and County procurement requirements; and
WHEREAS: Submittals for service were due by February 3`d, 2023; and
WHEREAS: Nine (9) qualified proposals were received; and
WHEREAS: An internal Public Works review team reviewed the proposal and recommends
award to East Slopes Earthworks;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas
County, Washington, in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize the selection of East
Slopes Earthworks for the Manufactured Home, Barn, Arena, and Garage Demolition and
Salvage Project and authorize the Public Works Director to negotiate the final contract elements
and sign the professional services agreement.
