KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />2023 AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 21, 2023 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution to authorize the Kittitas <br />County Department of Public Works Director's Signature <br />on Task Order No. I with Watershed Science and <br />Engineering for the West Interchange Hydraulic Analysis <br />BACKGROUND: The Flood Control Zone District has been meeting with <br />West Interchange Property owners discussing economic <br />development issues and the mapped floodplain in the area <br />for several years. Recently, CenterFuse secured a planning <br />grant through the Department of Commerce to evaluate <br />land use development in this area of Ellensburg. <br />Supporting this effort, the Flood Control Zone District <br />budgeted floodplain modeling support in the 2023 Capital <br />budget and staff is ready to contract for said services with <br />Watershed Science and Engineering. The proposed scope <br />of work cost is approximately $98,722.00. <br />Public Works staff presented the Watershed Sciences and <br />Engineering Scope of Work at the February 13, 2023, study <br />session and received direction to prepare enabling <br />documents to execute the task order. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to authorize the Kittitas County <br />Department of Public Works Director's signature on Task <br />Order No. 1 with Watershed Science and Engineering for <br />the West Interchange Hydraulic Analysis <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Task Order No. 1 with Watershed Science and <br />Engineering for the West Interchange Hydraulic Analysis <br />LEAD STAFF: Arden Thomas, Water Resource Manager <br />
