SHERIFF'S STUDY SESSION MINUTES
COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG
Regular Meeting
WEDNESDAY 8:00 AM January 4, 2023
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice -Chairman Brett Wachsmith, and
Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Sheriff Clay Myers and Public Works Director Mark Cook.
Citizens Comments: None.
Facility Discussion (Public Defense/Civil Attorneys): Sheriff Myers mentioned that Patti Stacey
was not able to be at this meeting and will update later, but wanted to know if the plan was still
for the move. Commissioner Laura Osiadacz said yes still moving to the other building. The
reconfigure still needs to be done first and owner doing the work before moving in, plans to be
drawn up and not sure how quick before moving.
Update on Upper County Emergency Operations Center: Mark Cook provided information on
contract with Bora. How do we get SAR without develop of EOC. Discussed the need to pull
permits in July/August start construction on roof before the fall and term the lease in January
2024. Discussed water issues and pulling of permits. Mark mentioned we need to meet and
update before first quarter is over.
Other Business: Sheriff Myers updated on the Emergency Management Specialist and that the
job description was sent to Human Resource to review then sending to Union. The School
Resource Office position we are looking at this fall and may need a new position, but not sure
yet.
