KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />February 7, 2023 <br />Conduct a Public Hearing to consider amending <br />Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.010 Speed <br />Limits and Section 10.12.010 Stops and Yields for <br />on -system roads within the Black Horse at Whiskey <br />Creek Planned Unit Development. <br />BACKGROUND: On January 17, 2023, the Board of County <br />Commissioners approved Resolution 2023-006 <br />adopting various roads located within the Black <br />Horse at Whiskey Creek Planned Unit Development <br />onto the Kittitas County Road System. This <br />included 29a' Avenue, Mustang Court, Morgan <br />Court, Longhorn Loop and those portions of <br />Roundup Drive, Wrangler Drive and Bridle Way <br />located north of 29"' Avenue. <br />At the time of adoption, the speed limit and signage <br />was not established. Public Works is recommending <br />setting said speed limit at twenty-five miles per <br />hour and placing appropriate signage on the roads. <br />A redline markup of Kittitas County Code <br />10.08.010 Speed Limits and KCC 10.12.010 Stops <br />and Yields is provided for Board consideration. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a public hearing to consider amending <br />Kittitas County Code Section 10.08.010 Speed <br />Limits and Section 10. 12.010 Stops and Yields for <br />on -system roads within the Black Horse at Whiskey <br />Creek Planned Unit Development. <br />HANDLING: Return one signed Ordinance to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance, Location Map <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
