KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS PROJECT WORK SESSION <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />Special Meeting <br />MONDAY 10:00 AM January 9, 2023 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice -Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith, and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br />Others: Dan Carlson, Jeremy Larson, and Jessica Miller, <br />Community Development Services; and zero (0) members of the <br />public. <br />At 10:04 am Chairman Wright opened the CDS Project Work Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MIN. TIME LIMIT) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />DISCUSS CDS PROJECTS AND WORK PLAN <br />CDS DIRECTOR DAN CARLSON provided an overview of the projects to <br />review with the BoCC. Three of the projects are building <br />related. Discussion occurred regarding the following topics: <br />1) County Sponsored Affordable Housing Building Plans - this <br />would be three sets of donated pre -approved plans that <br />would save on the design cost for building a home. The only <br />review that would need to be done would be on the parcel <br />for construction. There would need to be different <br />snowloads for each design depending on where the <br />construction was built in the county. Discussion regarding <br />the possibility of needing to limit the number of plans a <br />person could purchase and limiting to certain zoned areas. <br />2) International Wildland-Urban Interface Code/Map - discussed <br />the option to create a new map specific to Kittitas County <br />risk factors in order to simplify IWUIC review and provide <br />predictability for applicants.
