Future Plans*We have several cost recovery models in place. sorne of which are allowing for a greater match in the evenis and marl<eting that can provide. For example. the Cle Elum Downtown Association has begun developing more opportunitres for business sponsorships. As our communtiy grows, we are seeing more corporate businesses, banking instriutions, and others who are wanling to be recognized as community padners and sponsors. Our sponsorship opportunities have noi only grown in the nunrber of sponsors. but also at the sponsorship level. This year we will be launching a new "Padnership" donor progratx. The inient is to encourage busirresses. organizations, corporations. and individuals to support therr association through differeni partnership donor levels. With the success of an increase in the Main Street Tax lncentive Program. our association will be able to obiain additional B&O tax doliars from businesses who are interested in donating and receiving a tax incentive credit. A portion of this increase will be added to the Promotion's Conrmittee budget for marketing and events- Through our collaboration with our pafiners, we are able to joinfly fund activities and events. which also reduces costs for all partners and gives everyone the ability to work snrailer, with reduced individual expenses arrd obtain greater success in our efforts io market and execuie events. 2500 characlr-,t lirnii Application Questions. The ongoing challenges of COVID 19 have continued to impact our events and activities. However, our Board of Directors and committee members have been creative in addressing these impacts. We have implemented a planning format that allows for activities and events to flow through town. By moving from businesses to businesses. pocket park to pocket park. this allowed us to safely offer activities. Our activities this past yearwere held, but in many cases nrodified to meet safety requirements for COVID. For Pioneer Days 2O21, due to crowd concerns. we did not offer a full menu of activiiies in downtown cle Elum. our vendor market and Kid Zone were not offered. and the 3 on 3 basketball tournament was canceled. However, our associatiotr continued to bring Pioneer Days partners together to identify activities lhat were going to be held and to encourage a "flow" of activities throughout Cle Elum. Roslyn Ronald. and Suncadia Reso'1. We also worked with businesses like Dru Bru to develop outdoor games for families. As a result. we were able to identify a full rnenu of offerings that were ihen advertised locally. online. and through the efforls of all partners. We had a very successful. safe. and fun P'oneet Days weekend. We successfully introduced a Mother's Day Market with pop-ups in retail. food. and beverage locations. Vendors were placed on the sidewalk and people were encouiaged to shop and explore downtown during that weekend. Another successful venture that we were able to safely hold was the new Cle Elum public Market downtown. Working wiih the Kittitas County Health Departrnent we were able to develop a safe layoui to space vendors and a safe fooi route for market visitors. Boo-Elum. our fall signature event. was not held as a "Trunk or Treat" event like normal on First Street- We adapted and had a "Boo Cruize" where our trunk or treaters drove through neighborhoods bringing lreats to them. For 2021, we are planning four different ways to hold this event anc.l watching COVID numbers to determine how it will take place. We are plannirrg iwo safe events. a Scarecrow Contest and a Purnpkin Path. to offer the opportunity for families, businesses, and visitors to enjoy Halloween. we ale currently in the plarrning phase for our annual chrislrnas irr cle Elunr. agarn looking at different ways to safely offer a festive time during a peak season of tourists and retail business sales. 25iio draracier lirlrit Additional lnformation Working with ihe Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, our association was able to receive lodging data for this past year. Based on the data points from Star Destination Report and Klttitas County Chanrber of Commerce. we predict 11.025 people will travel to Upper County in 2022 ftom 50+ miles outside of the county for leisure actrvities. ln addition, we predict this could bring 4.320 room nights at the average ADR of 5103.88. equaling a total irnpact of 5448.762 to the upper county area. Tlre demand of hotel room nights sold in 2020 in the county was 41,851 for leisure travel that includes events. Upper County propedies selling 17,282 hotel room nights. 25% of that number, (the average percent of 50 miles orfurthertraveling for events) = 4,320 room nights. These visitors activities may include festivals and events. retail shopping. dining, outdoor recreation, and overnight stays. 2500 cltaracler lirilil SUppOfting DOCUmentS Yeil ilray Lrpl.lai airy sugpilitirig (ioc!irerts srrch as g.aphs rnta{:ies..ijng.arrs triarketrilq, laieflals et{:. We have introduced two new methods of calculating visitors at events. These rxethods will continue to be used. zip code tracking and direct count. This past year we added a zip code tool to our event cards which has allowed us to track a percentage of travelers attending events and activities. This method has allowed to validate lhat we are attracting visrtors from greater than 50 miles in distance. We have also been able to validate that tourist from ouiside of the state of washington and even the Uniied States are stopping and exploring Cle Elunr. our direci count methods include conducting walking cou,rts throughout our events This is occurring at least every half hour out at locations where events are being held. We also ask reiail partners to help keep track by counting shoppers in lheir businesses. Additionally, we measure our results through google analytics, registration forms, and sooal media reports on ads placed and engagements. We will also be adding data from our new website which will feature such as our hub for communication Stalting in 2022. we will be adding an informal survey to our marketing materials, asking participants whether they are lodging overnight during their experience at our events. At this time. it is hard to collect data directly from our hotels, this process will allow for a sampling of findings in relation to lodging. 2500 character liBlit Application Questions.
