I have obtained the exhibits and some more information from HopeSource. I have attached the
exhibits and copied the email;
"Attached you will find Exhibit A, our guidelines for the scholarship program, and Exhibit B, the
proposed budget.
We are requesting the same annual amount as previous years, $3,500.
We are proposing minor changes to the program to make it more helpful to scholarship families. ln
summary:
1)We expanded the definition of foster children to include cases where the child is placed outside
the county but still within the jurisdiction of Kittitas County dependency court.
2).We lncreased the annual limit from $125 to $150 and removed the cap of $100 per activity. This
allows the scholarships to try to keep pace with inflation and make their'use more flexible fo-r
parents.
Thank y9g-fgr the BOCC's consideration of this valuable program. To date this year we have
provided 180 scholarships to Kittitas County children, ranging from sports leagu-es to the robotics
club. We want all children to find their joy and self-confidence after the pandemic years by
participating in healthy and fun activities together. The county funds ard essentialio that mission."
