RESOLUTION NO. 2022 -_____
AUTHORIZING THE KITTITAS COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR TO
NEGOTIATE, ENTER INTO, AND APPROVE CONTRACTS WITH A VALUE OF LESS THAN
$30,000
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has the authority to make such
contracts as may be necessary to their corporate or administrative powers, and to do all
necessary acts in relation to the property of the County pursuant to RCW 36.01.010; and
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners can delegate to its agents or
officers certain corporate or administrative powers, such as contracting authority,
pursuant to RCW 36.01.030; and
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has previously delegated to other
County departments and offices the specific authority to negotiate, enter into, and
approve contracts for expenditures, purchases, or other contractual obligations for
property, goods, or services; and
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Community Services Director, in carrying out the duties for
Community Development Services, is requesting to execute contracts, administrative
agreements, or sub-agreements with relatively low risk and dollar value for planning
support services; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest
of the public, does hereby authorize the Kittitas County Community Services Director to negotiate, enter
into, and approve contracts for expenditures, purchases, or other contractual obligations for property,
goods, or services with a monetary value of less than $30,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of Resolution 2009-22, which requires all contracts
to be reviewed and approved as to form by the Prosecutor’s Office before the contract is signed, and
which also directs the Auditor’s Office to deny payment for any contract not reviewed and approved by
the Prosecutor’s Office, shall remain in full effect.
