KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 8:30 A.M. OCTOBER 17, 2022
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chair Cory
Wright; and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Stephanie George,
Administrative Supervisor; Priscilla Perez, Deputy Clerk; Dennis
Robinson, Deputy Clerk; Heather Ryan, Records Deputy; Jan McElroy,
Legal Process Assistant III; Jerry Pettit, Auditor; Sarah Keith,
Superior Court Administrator; and Chris Horner, Deputy Prosecutor.
SPECIAL MEETING APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM COUNTY CLERK COMMISSIONERS
At 8:30 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz called a Special Meeting to order to
consider an appointment to serve as Interim County Clerk.
She announced Karen Bowen, County Clerk, submitted her resignation
from the position, effective at midnight October 17, 2022. She
explained how the Prosecutor’s office provided options for the
Board’s consideration including do nothing; appoint an Interim Clerk
while noting the employee must be a current Clerk’s office employee;
however, their preference was for the Board to appoint an Interim.
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to appoint Stephanie George,
Administrative Supervisor, to serve as the Interim County Clerk,
effective October 18, 2022. Vice-Chairman Wright seconded.
The Board expressed their appreciation to the employees in the
Clerk’s office for their professionalism and hard work throughout
this past year.
Motion carried 3-0.
The meeting was concluded at 8:40 a.m.
