AGENDA SESSION DATE: September 20, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution selecting Watershed
Science and Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering
services for Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling
Services Creating a Two -Dimensional Flow Model for
North Fork Teanaway River and authorize the Public
Works Water Resource Manager to negotiate and
execute a Professional Services Agreement.
BACKGROUND: On August 16, 2022, the Kittitas County Board of
County Commissioners authorized advertisement of a
request for statement of qualifications to provide
Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling Services Creating a
Two -Dimensional Flow Model for North Fork
Teanaway River.
INTERACTION:
One (1) submittal was received by the closing date of
September 9, 2022, and was reviewed by Kittitas County
Public Works staff.
Staff is recommending that Watershed Science and
Engineering, Inc. be the selected firm for this project.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution selecting Watershed Science
and Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering services for
Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling Services Creating a
Two -Dimensional Flow Model for North Fork
Teanaway River and authorize the Public Works Water
Resource Manager to negotiate and execute a
Professional Services Agreement.

RESOLUTION NO. 2022 -
AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF WATERSHED SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING,
INC. TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR HYDROLOGY AND
HYDRAULIC MODELING SERVICES CREATING A TWO-DIMENSIONAL FLOW
MODEL FOR NORTH FORK TEANAWAY RIVER AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC
WORKS WATER RESOURCE MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR SAID PROJECT
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works advertised a Request for Statement of
Qualifications for Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling Services Creating a Two -
Dimensional Flow Model for North Fork Teanaway River pursuant to county
code and state law; and
WHEREAS: Submittals were due on September 9,2022; and
WHEREAS: There was one (1) qualified firm who submitted their qualifications for review;
and
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works reviewed the submittal and recommends
Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. to be the selected firm for said services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby select Watershed Science and Engineering,
Inc. to provide engineering services for Hydrology and Hydraulic Modeling
Services Creating a Two -Dimensional Flow Model for North Fork Teanaway
River and authorize the Public Works Water Resource Manager to Negotiate and
Execute a Professional Services Agreement for said project.
