KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: September 6, 2022 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Public hearing to consider Resolution to Surplus County property and <br />to authorize Treasurer to hold an Auction. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: In 2018 the Solid Waste Department locate a new site for the <br />Ellensburg Transfer Station. Jacobs Engineering along with public <br />input recommended the Hwy 97 Old Highway 10 site. This site was <br />50 acres which was more than what was finally determined to be <br />needed for the new facility. <br /> <br /> A shot plat was done to create two lots, with parcel 961884 being <br />10.87 acres which is available to surplus at this time. <br /> <br /> The minimum price for the property has previously been set at <br />$1,074,000 and I would request that this property be surplus to county <br />needs and that we move to sell the property at auction. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office, Treasurer and Solid Waste <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Resolution authorizing the Treasurer to hold an Auction <br />to hold sale to surplus property. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return to Solid Waste. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Director <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
