AGENDA DATE: September 6, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Public hearing to consider Resolution to Surplus County property and
to authorize Treasurer to hold an Auction.
BACKGROUND: In 2018 the Solid Waste Department locate a new site for the
Ellensburg Transfer Station. Jacobs Engineering along with public
input recommended the Hwy 97 Old Highway 10 site. This site was
50 acres which was more than what was finally determined to be
needed for the new facility.
A shot plat was done to create two lots, with parcel 961884 being
10.87 acres which is available to surplus at this time.
The minimum price for the property has previously been set at
$1,074,000 and I would request that this property be surplus to county
needs and that we move to sell the property at auction.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office, Treasurer and Solid Waste
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Resolution authorizing the Treasurer to hold an Auction
to hold sale to surplus property.
HANDLING: Return to Solid Waste.
