RESOLUTION
2022-
RESOLUTION RELIEVING THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT ADVISORY
COMMITTEE OF LOCALLY IMPOSED OPMA REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS: Resolution 2022-_____ provided for the formation of a committee to provide community
input regarding the adoption of a modified model of executive county government
leadership; and
WHEREAS: that committee is expected to meet only seven times; and
WHEREAS: the committee is not subject to the Open Public Meetings Act codified in Chapter 42.30
RCW as the committee is purely advisory with no decision or policy making authority;
and
WHEREAS: Resolution 2017-053 imposed local OPMA requirements for Board-created committees to
avoid the analysis efforts required to determine when Chapter 42.30 RCW applies to
newly formed committees; and
WHEREAS: the Board recognizes the limited purpose and duration of this specific committee does not
warrant the time and effort called for in Resolution 2017-153 particularly when the
committee is already required to present its work to the Board at a properly noticed
OPMA-compliant meeting.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County Executive Management Advisory Committee
is hereby relieved of the local OPMA requirements established by Resolution 2017-153.
