BACKGROUND: On July 14, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was advised that our Cooke Canyon Road — Hiline Canal bridge replacement project was selected to receive funding through the federal Local Bridge Program. This project will require a 13.5 percent match in local funds for the engineering and design. If construction is authorized before December 2025 there will be 100 percent federal funding for eligible costs. This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the Preliminary Engineering phase of the project. Public Works is preparing to solicit for design support in the fall of 2022. It is anticipated that Public Works staff will perform 50 percent of the Preliminary Engineering. INTERACTION: Public Works RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the Replacement of Bridge No. 80181 on Cooke Canyon Road over the Hiline Canal.
