ACTION REQUESTED:
Execute Allocation Agreement
BACKGROUND:
This document is necessary for the settlement of the opioid litigation against four distributors. The County
has already executed the MOU regarding this settlement. Now what is necessary is to also execute the
Allocation agreement (chair signature on pg. 9 and filling out and signing Exhibit F). The prosecutor's
Office will then send the executed document to the group of litigating municipalities and complete the
process. Right now it is estimated that Kittitas County should receive about $737,000 from this settlement
with the opioid distributors. There are other aspects of this litigation still moving forward that also will
result in money for the County. Additionally, the State of Washington will be making significant portions of
the money it receives available to counties in the form of project grants - so there is probably more to come.
INTERACTION:
I have been working with the group of municipalities that are all litigating this together.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize Chairperson's signature on the Allocation Agreement (pg. 9) and to fill out and sign Exhibit F.
HANDLING:
Return signed original to me for submission to litigation group.
