KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. AUGUST 29, 2022
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Cory
Wright. Excused: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Emily Smith,
Administrative Assistant; Patti Stacey, Solid Waste
Director/Maintenance Director/Project Manager; Dan Carlson,
Community Development Services Director; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Darren
Higashiyama, Chief Deputy Sherriff/ Interim Fire Marshal; Jeanne
Killgore, Human Resources Director; Arden Thomas, Water Resource

REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action Forms and Vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending August 26, 2022.
DISCUSSION LOCATION OF FIRE MARSHAL DEPARTMENT COMMISSIONERS
The Board discussed where the Fire Marshal should be located. The
Board gave direction for Dan Carson to bring forward a Resolution to
move the Fire Marshal Department out of CDS and into the Sheriffs
Office.
Dan Carlson, Clay Myers, Darren Higashiyama, Jeanne Killgore all
left the meeting at 9:20 A.M.
SIGNATURE PROPERTY TAX APPEALS FORM

Vice-Chairman Wright moved to approve the Notice of Approval to Hear
Property Tax Appeals. Chairman Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 2-
0.
SIGNATURE BIOSOLIDS APPLICATION COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wright moved to approve and authorize The Chairman’s
signature on a biosolids application for coverage under the state
permit. Chairman Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
Patti Stacey left the meeting at 9:25 A.M.
SIGNATURE RV ACQUISITION & FUNDING REQUEST COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wright moved to approve the Chairman’s signature on a
letter of support for Western Rivers Conservancy’s proposed RV
acquisition and Salmon Recovery Funding Board funding request.
Chairman Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
Arden Thomas left the meeting at 9:40 A.M.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined that for the week of August 29, 2022, they
would post a Thank You to Mr. Bruce Tabb for his time as Mayor and
on the City Council; A post promoting the Fair; the video from the
Mayor of Sanda City including information that the artwork from
Sanda City that will be on display at the fair this weekend; and a
post announcing the new HR Director.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2022
were determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin
meeting earlier on and they will continue to provide updates at
future meetings.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
There were general updates on meetings & conversations that the
Board participated in, individually over the past week.
