COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 9:00 A.M. JULY 19, 2022
Board members present: Vice-Chairman Cory Wright; and Commissioner
Brett Wachsmith.
Excused: Chairman Laura Osiadacz
Others: Emily Smith, Administrative Assistant; Greg Zempel,
Prosecuting Attorney; Elisha Harvill, Chief Administrator; Kristine
Foreman, HR Director; Patti Stacey, Solid Waste Director.
SPECIAL MEETING PROSECUTORS REQUEST COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Vice-Chairman Wright called a Special Meeting to order
to meet with County staff regarding Phase 1-3 with SCJ Alliance per
their proposal dated 7/8/2022 for north parking lot, and Prosecutor
requests.
REQUEST BOARD APPROVAL FOR PHASE 1-3 WITH SCJ ALLIANCE PER PROPOSAL
DATED 7/8/2022 FOR NORTH PARKING LOT.
Director Patti Stacey requested the Board to approve Phase 1-3 with
SCL Alliance for the Counties north parking lot. Commissioner
Wachsmith moved to approve Phase 1-3 with SCJ Alliance per their
proposal dated 7/8/2022 for north parking lot. Vice-Chairman Wright
seconded. There was no discussion. The motion carried 2-0.
CONSIDER PROPOSED DEPOSIT FOR KCPAO BLAKE REIMBURSEMENT FUNDS
Prosecutor Greg Zempel gave the Board a brief background on Blake
funds and the Prosecutors desire to put them into the Victim Witness
fund. The Board gave direction to allow the funds to be allocated to
that fund. the Prosecutor’s office will reach out to the Auditors
office and the Auditor will dedicate the funds to the appropriate
account.
REQUEST TO ADD A PARALEGAL POSITION TO THE KITTITAS COUNTY
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
Prosecutor Greg Zempel explained the need for a paralegal position
in their office; what the position would be doing and what pay scale
the position would follow. The Board reviewed the job description.
The Board was supportive of the position and gave direction to fill
the position.
