AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement
between Kittitas County and the Yakima Humane Society.
BACKGROUND: The City of Ellensburg is no longer going to operate the Animal
Shelter at 1007. S. Industrial Way and perform the related functions effective August 1,
2022. The County had an Interlocal Agreement with the City to make use of the Shelter
and these related functions. As a result of the City changing its operations, the County
would no longer have access to the Shelter and related functions. The City has contracted
with the Yakima Humane Society to operate the Shelter. The County is contracting with
the Yakima Humane Society for services of the same nature and type as those provided to
the City in order to maintain access to that resource.
INTERACTION:
Doug Mitchell, Deputy Prosecutor has prepared a Professional Services Agreement for
the Board’s consideration.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Professional Services Agreement between
Kittitas County and the Yakima Humane Society from August 1, 2022, through
December 31, 2025.
HANDLING: 2 originals – Yakima Humane Society
Yakima Human Society to sign and return 1 fully executed original to Clerk of the Board.
