AGENDA DATE: August 2, 2022
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to establish
County Road Project (CRP) number supporting the
replacement of Bridge #80181 Cooke Canyon Road
Bridge over the Hiline Canal.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works has been awarded
2022 Local Bridge Program federal funds in the
amount of $2,723,00.00. These funds will be used
to replace the existing single span, structurally
deficient, load posted concrete bridge on Cooke
Canyon Road over the Hiline Canal. The work will
include replacing the existing bridge with single
span, prestressed concrete girder structure to meet
current design standards and to improve the
hydraulic opening.
INTERACTION:

RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to establish County Road
Project (CRP) number supporting the replacement
of Bridge #80181 Cooke Canyon Road Bridge over
the Hiline Canal.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KITTITAS COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, in the matter
of initiating a county road project designated as:
CRP NO: 315-22 JOB NO: RC 2194 -BR
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Cooke Canyon Rd Bridge #80181 be improved as follows:
The project will replace the existing single span, structurally deficient, load posted concrete bridge with a single span,
prestressed concrete girder structure to meet current design standards and to improve the hydraulic opening.

This project is hereby declared to be a public necessity and the County Engineer is hereby ordered and authorized to report and
proceed thereon as by law provided. (RCW 36.75.050, 36.80.030, 36.80.070).
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the County
Engineers estimate, is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

ACCORDANCE WITH RCW 36.81.130
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
THE CONSTRUCTION IS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY CONTRACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH RCW 36.77.020 ET.SEQ.
THE CONSTRUCTION IS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY COUNTY FORCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH RCW 36.77.065 AND
WAC 136-18.
