AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON THE LOCAL AGENCY FEDERAL
AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS CONSTRUCTION PHASE FOR VANTAGE HIGIIWAY
ovER CASCADE CANAL (BRTDGE 89342) REPLACEMENT PROJECT CNP 2021-202
WHEREAS:The Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal (Bridge 89342) Replacement Project
was awarded Federal Funding through the Surface Transportation Block Grant
Regional Funds Program (STBG); and
WHEREAS: The final plans, specifications and estimate are near completion; and
WHEREAS:In preparation to advertise the project for construction in August 2022,Public
Works is requesting the Washington State Department of Transportation to
release the Federal Funds for construction; and
WHEREAS:A Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus must be executed by the Chair
of the Board of County Commissioners acknowledging the project has been
reviewed and is consistent with the agency's comprehensive plan for community
development; and
NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest ofthe public, does hereby approve the Chair's signature on the Local
Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus Construction Phase for Vantage Highway
Over Cascade Canal (Bridge 89342) Replacement Project CRP 2021-202.

The existing bridge (no.89342) along Vantage Highway spanning the Cascade krigation Canal requires
replacement. The existing bridge is currently load restricted and has recent damage from a vehicle accident.
